Hey, all, here’s a cool little opportunity for filmmakers out there. The DC APA Film Festival is hosting a trailer contest for this years festival. Some insider info, I’m one of the judges so if you are an avid reader, you’ll probably be able to figure out what kind of stuff I like best (fetish porn).
From DC APA Film Festival:
I’m just writing to let you know about a little contest we’re hosting over at DC Asian Pacific American Film. We, together with Scion, are offering almost $2000 in total prize money to the film makers that make the 60-second trailer that best promotes our upcoming festival, $1000 to the grand prize winner. The contest is now in its second year.
There really aren’t many rules or restrictions. Basically, we just want to give aspiring film makers, film students or anyone with free time and a camera the freedom and opportunity to flex their creative muscles. If you have a good idea and can get your hands on a camera, start shooting. Make us look cool, and we’ll pay you. It’s that simple.
Since some people might scoff at the idea of me judging cool anything, we’ve enlisted the services of three very accomplished, generous and, yes, cool Asian American film makers to sit on a jury that will select the finalists. Eric Byler (Charlotte Sometimes, Americanese, Tre), Michael Kang (The Motel, West 32nd) and Julia Kwan (Eve and the Firehorse).
Of course there are some very important rules, which you’ll have to look on our website at http://www.apafilm.org/contest.php to find out about. The submission deadline is August 17, 2007, which is actually right around the corner, so if you’re interested, get on it! If you’re not interested, please forward this to anyone you think might be.
