The 8th Annual Slant: Bold Asian American Images Festival
All you young Asian American filmmakers out there, check it out. It’s time to submit to the 8th Annual Slant Film Festival. Melissa Hung the programmer has been a great source of support since my days starting out making short films and it started when I played my first short “A Waiter Tomorrow” there.
– When: May 31 – June 1, 2008
– Where: The Aurora Picture Show, Houston
– Deadline: Postmark by February 22, 2008
filmmakers. For the eighth year, Slant will showcase an eclectic mix of
the best in emerging Asian American cinema. All genres are accepted.
Program Content: All genres, including narrative, experimental, film art/video art, documentary and animation.
Eligibility: Filmmakers or film content should be Asian American or Asian Canadian.
Running Time: Each work should run 30 minutes or less.
Formats: Works may be presented on VHS, SVHS, DVD, Mini DV, or 16 mm
film. Mini DV is preferred. Please note we do not have Beta.

Entry Fee: None!
Payment: Makers are paid $4/minute of film/video, $40 minimum.
Aurora also pays return shipping and insurance on tapes and films. We
pay distributors their published rate for rentals, but are happy to
