Once the belief of a manifest destiny was conveniently accepted as the way to go, the push was on to rid of the indigenous people. They didn’t have a chance. If they could have done the same to Asia by imperialistic means, the Europeans would have but unfortunately for them there was already a nation operating there for thousands of years.
